First year students from our Creative Writing and Graphic Design courses have collaborated on an exciting project to produce a series of works in a ‘Typographic Haiku Collaborative Experiments’ exhibition.
Our first year BA (Hons) English and Creative Writing students were asked to create a haiku; a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven and five, traditionally evoking images of the natural world. These were then passed to our BA (Hons) Graphic Design students, who were asked to produce a series of experimental typefaces that conceptually reflected the content of their given poem.
