About this placement

What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?

You will be allocated a supervisor and assessor prior to commencing your placement. You will be introduced to your supervisor/assessor on your first day, and they will complete your orientation.

What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?

Shift Notes:

Days: 8am – 5pm

Notes: We work 8 hour shifts, with a 30 minute lunch break. Please come in at 9am on your first day, and your shift times can then be arranged with your supervisor.

What patient care situations are available in this placement?

As a 0-19 service we visit children and young people up to the age of 19 years, with a team made up of nursery nurses, staff nurses, health visitors and school nurses, focusing on their health and developmental needs and attending safeguarding meetings.

We do not have a uniform, therefore you have the option to wear your own smart/casual clothes whilst on placement, or your student nurse uniform if you prefer. Our uniform policy states no trainers/sandals, no jeans, no jewellery and no nail varnish/false nails.
