About this placement
What is organised for students on commencement of placement?
Introduction to team and to allocated supervisor and assessor.
Students will be given a welcome pack.
What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?
Supervisors/assessors will be allocated prior to the student arriving on placement.
What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?
Shift Notes:
The team work Monday – Friday 8am-4pm

Community- patients own homes
Care homes
Visiting hospital wards
What nursing model is used for planning care?
The team use a patient centred holistic approach
What core clinical skills can be learnt?
Mental health assessment, care planning, comprehensive risk assessment and evaluation of care .
Multi agency liaison- social workers, Consultant psychiatrists, GPs, Rapid response, other professionals
Specialist nursing assessment to determine level of care.
What additional clinical skills can be learnt?
Support to families including information and advice.
