About this placement

What is organised for students on commencement of placement?

Please contact the placement prior to your arrival.

On arrival you will be met by your mentor and given a timetable for your first few weeks with various clinics and visits with clinicians arranged.

This can be amended as learning opportunities dictate.

What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?

You will work most days with your mentor, any annual leave or sickness will be covered by other members of the team.

What patient care situations are available in this placement?

Opportunity to observe both assessments and treatments of young people with Mental Health difficulties.

What nursing model is used for planning care?

We do not use one specific model, we tailor our assessments and interventions to the needs of the individual child and family.
