About this placement
What is organised for students on commencement of placement?
Group introduction on first day and orientation to the HUB
Allocated resource packs for each HUB area
What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?
Each learner will be allocated an assessor within the Hub
All staff will have completed training for supervising/assessor
Assessor to be available for induction
Allocated supervisers/assessors to learners to be known in advance
What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?
Shift Notes:
Colorectal: Mon – Fri 8am – 4pm
ERAS: Mon-Fri 8am – 4pm
Stoma Care: Mon-Fri over a 4-day period as stated below:
07.00 – 17.30 x 3 days a week
07.00 – 15.00 x 1 day a week
Upper GI: Mon 7am-4.30pm
Tues 7am-4.30pm
Wed day off
Thurs 7am-4.30pm
Fri 7am-4.30pm

Students will rotate between the Upper GI, Colorectal and Stoma Care Team throughout their time within the CNS Hub to gain an insight into all of the roles/specialities.
