Hospital @ Night is a team that includes iBleep Co-ordinators, Site Coordinators, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Clinical Support Workers who work closely throughout the night working alongside the medical and surgical teams. The site coordinators manage the hospital site overnight including staffing, patient flow, and overall site management. The team utilise an electronic triage system (IBleep) to ensure patients are reviewed by the most appropriate clinician overnight.

Varies from twilight’s to full night shifts:

16:30 – 00:30

20:00 – 08:30

What patient care situations are available in this placement?

  • Triaging patients escalated on iBleep
  • Completing ECGs
  • Observing Venepuncture, Cannulation and obtaining blood cultures as well as the theory behind this
  • Observing and assisting in Catheterisation (male and female)
  • Participating in A-E assessment of acutely ill patient
  • Developing and expanding knowledge of the National Early Warning Score 2
  • Advanced Anatomy and Physiology
  • Out of hours site management
  • Dealing with complaints
  • Dealing with major incident calls
  • Patient flow management / bed management
  • Attending and assisting in crash calls
