About this placement

What is organised for students on commencement of placement?

Allstudents will be allocated a mentor prior to the commencement in practice. Thestudent will receive a welcome pack and will receive a full orientation andinduction during the first 48 hours in practice

Studentsare welcome to have a pre-visit to the service and partake in their inductionprior to commencement in practice and time will be given in lieu (optional)

What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?

AllStudents are allocated a mentor to support them in practice, All mentors areupdated on an annual basis as required by the NMC (2008) and are registered onthe Live register for mentors held by the Practice Education Facilitators.

In theevent of your allocated mentor being unavailable for annual leave or sicknessalternative arrangements will be made to support your practice.

Allqualified staff have the opportunity to study the preparation for mentorship modulecredited and occasionally you maybe mentored by a trainee mentor, this will beoverseen by a qualified mentor in practice

What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?

Shift Notes:

Monday toFriday 9am -5pm

The servicedoes not operate at weekends or bank holidays

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Placement Speciality

The core business of CAMHS is the specialist assessmentand treatment of serious mental health disturbances and associated risk inchildren and young people between the ages of five and 18 who live in Bolton.

Dress code
