About this placement

What is organised for students on commencement of placement?

Induction and orientation will be arranged for 1st day in placement – local provision of Fire,H&S, M&H – practical

Bridget Lawler (PEL) is Professional Development Lead and arranges induction for all new starters

Will arrange for students to attend local ½ day training as appropriate

What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?

Mentor will be allocated on commencement – currently only 1mentor available but further staff to be trained in future

What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?

Shift Notes:

Registrantson duty at all times 24/7 and oversee all nursing care within the village

Shift pattern for staff is 8:00 – 8:00 – students can negotiate own shiftpattern.

Provision of a full spectrum of care – Independent Living,Domiciliary Service, Experience Days and Household Living.

Dementia expertise, Nursing Care, Admiral Nurse Service, DayCare and Home care, End of Life Care (Alzeimers disease, vascular dementia,Lewy Body dementia, fronto-temporal dementia etc)
