About this placement

What is organised for students on commencement of placement?

The student is allocated to a Nurse Mentor and will be provided with a Student Induction Pack

What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?

The mentor is allocated a student and supported with the placement

What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?

Early:

08.00 – 14.00

Late:

14.00 – 20.00

Shift Notes:

Days:-  08.00 – 20.00

Notes:- The student will usually mirror their assessors shifts so they would work long shifts 8am – 8pm and will include at least 2 weekends.

What nursing model is used for planning care?

We use person centered care model and CareSys electronic system

What core clinical skills can be learnt?

The student will learn more about dementia, psychosis and other illnesses relating to the mental health field

What resources are available to help students learning?

Our training team run a cycle of various training that the student will be able to access during placement
