All aspects of specialist palliative care Carers and relatives feature highly in all plan of care Holistic symptom management Bereavement support Predominantly based on the Inpatient unit, you will also gain experience working within Day therapy, Outpatients and Hospice at Home.

Adapted version of Roper, Logan and Tierney Model of Care.

Additional Information
This placement provides opportunity to develop and enhance skills in a specialist palliative setting. The student nurse will be supported and encouraged to learn new skills as provided in the information above. We encourage students to contact either SSN Mary Fox or SN Vicki Sweeney on the Inpatient Unit prior to placement to arrange an informal visit. This also allows us to gain insight into your aims/objectives for placement. Teaching takes place weekly open to all Student. Identify own learning needs and we facilitate sessions.
