What is organised for students on commencement of placement?

What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?
Each student is allocated a mentor for the duration of the placement and will be shown on the staff rota. We do have more HCAs than trained staff so it is likely that the student may spend some time in clinics with HCAs.
What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?
Early:
07.30 – 15.30
Late:
12.30 – 20.30

Opportunity to spend time with members of MDT.

Patient observations
Steroid Injection clinics
Setting up and locking down of clinics
Preparing medical equipment.
Completing electronic patient notes
Assisting with completion of safety questionnaires prior to MRI/CT scans
Chaparone in various speciality clinics.
Assisting in microsuction clinics
Decontamination of nasendoscopes.
