What is organised for students on commencement of placement?

As soon as you have been allocated a Synergy ward at MRI please email Pef.team@mft.nhs.uk to introduce yourself (please include a note of which ward you are allocated to and when your placement starts). The PEF team can answer any questions you may have regarding Synergy, the hospital in general and parking.  If you would like to meet with the PEF Team before you start your placement they would be happy to arrange this.

What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?

Early:

07:30 – 15:20

Late:

12:00 – 20:00

Night:

19:30 – 08:00

Shift Notes:

Long days: 07:30 – 20:00

Most of our staff work long days but if you are unable we are happy for you to work split shifts as long as you are spending adequate time with your mentor

What patient care situations are available in this placement?

Ward 31 is a 26 bedded unit providing care to both males and females. Our patients are predominantly stroke patients however we often look after patients from other areas.
