What is organised for students on commencement of placement?
Orientation and welcome pack, Induction Programme
What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?
Arrangements are made for Mentors and Associate Mentors to spend time with students to discuss their learning objectives and discuss the student’s documentation. Students will work a minimum of two shifts per week with their Mentor/ Associate Mentor.
What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?
Early:
7:30am – 3:30pm
Late:
1.00pm – 9.00pm
Night:

Nights are available if part of the students learning objectives.

Additional Information
This is a very busy 28 bedded medical ward. There is an opportunity for students to observe the multi-disciplinary team within clinical practice that will enhance the students learning experience.
