What is organised for students on commencement of placement?

Introduction to mentor, assoc mentor, staff and the Department

Location of emergency exits/fire fighting equipment/alarms, resuscitation equipment/trolley

What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?

Mentors and associate mentors will be allocated to each student prior to commencement of placement, but are open to discussion.

Shifts are:- 8.15 – 5.00pm 4 days per week  and 8.15 – 12.45   1 day per week

Additional Information

The Outpatient Department is made up of 6 suites on the Rochdale Infirmary site

The Clinical Placement Facilitator for student nurses is Amanda MacDonald.  The role of the PEF is to provide ongoing support for student nurses and mentors in practice.
