About this placement
What is organised for students on commencement of placement?
Please download the Student Welcome Handbook and the Children’s Community Nursing Team Placement Charter prior to commencing placement
Students will be able to access and download the student booklet (see link). They are then able to contact us and will be provided with the details of their Assessor and Named Supervisor and what part of the team they have been assigned to (CCN main team, specialist Nurses, Special Schools Nurses) They will also be given 2 weeks rota. Students will have the opportunity to inform us of any reasonable requests for shifts at this point and if any adjustments are required. Students will then be given details on the address of their main placement area (this may differ from the one stated depending on the part of the team they have been assigned to) and any door codes they may require.
It is usually organised so the student will meet their Assessor or names supervisor on the first day of placement and for the orientation and initial meeting to take place within the first 2 days of placement. If students require a parking pass this needs to be picked up from St James House on commencing the placement, passes are held by the main CCN Team and must be signed out and back in at the end of the placement to avoid a £15 charge.
What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?
