Although at present District Nursing as a team we work 7 and a half hours daily between 8 am – 5.50pm there are no other shift patterns, weekends are included in the placement.

What patient care situations are available in this placement?

Following holistic assessment, interventions encompassing physical, spiritual and alternative beliefs, caring for patients in their own homes.

Also there are daily clinics for mobile patients encompassing all aspects of nursing care.

What nursing model is used for planning care?

Roper, Logan and Tierney.

Additional Information

The students are initially welcomed to the team by the team leader or Sister in Charge and introduced to their Mentor.
