About this placement
What is organised for students on commencement of placement?
Students advised to email PEL before starting placement to be informed of allocated assessor and first off duty shifts.
Assessor and supervisor allocated on PARE
Student given induction on first day of placement.
PARE to be completed with assessor or supervisor, action plans to be discussed to meet outcome for placement.
Student advised to discuss mid point and final assessment dates with assessor at start of placement.
What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?
Assessors and supervisors are allocated on PARE before placement starts
Informed of updates from PEF Team (by email, in folder or student board)
What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?
Possible to arrange night shifts.
Shift can be discussed with assessor during placement.

Long Day 0700 until 1930
Nigh shift 1900 until 0730
What patient care situations are available in this placement?
Assist patients to meet Activities of Daily Living (washing, dressing, personal care, oral diet and fluid intake, maintain safety)
Wound care
medication administration use of various routes
