What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?

Team Mentorship approach – students are mentored by a team and are given a named mentor who is responsible for completing the student’s paperwork.

Off Duty – students to phone prior to placement for off duty

What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?

Early:

Late:

Shift Notes:

Early: 8:00-16:00, 9:00-17:00, 10:00-18:00

Late:   12:30pm – 20:30pm, 13:00pm-21:00pm

Night:  NA

Notes: you will be expected to work two weekends and late shifts on this placements

What patient care situations are available in this placement?

Outpatients who come for appointments for a consultation with a clinician

Patients who are sent for tests e.g. hearing test, ECG, endoscopy, bloods, pre-op etc.

Chaperone to support a patient during a procedure or examination

Patients being admitted from Outpatients to a ward

Poorly patients, stretcher patients sent from another hospital or care setting.
