Hospital @ Night (H@N) incorporates, Out of Hours Medical Team, Site Management and Patient Flow.
Bed Manager’s/ Site Coordinator’s manage the flow of patients both elective and non-elective (emergencies) throughout the organisation. They manage capacity to ensure the right patient is placed in the appropriate bed.
Hospital @ Night is an out of hours team that includes Health Care Assistants, iBleep Coordinators (Triage Nurses), Site Coordinators, Advanced Clinical Practitioners who work closely throughout the night working alongside the medical and surgical teams. The iBleep Coordinators manage the electronic triage system (iBleep) to ensure patients are reviewed by the most appropriate clinician overnight in a timely manner. Also supporting ward staff over the telephone offering advice. The HCA’s and ACP’s would provide whole ward coverage across the trust attending to patients requiring cannualtion, venepuncture, ECG recording and who may need a medical review overnight ie post falls review, blood results interpretation, medication prescribing, reviewing clinical films. The Site Coordinator’s are responsible for looking after the whole hospital overnight ensuring safe staffing levels on the wards, dealing with incidents across the hospital, dealing with complaints from patients and staff, attending crash calls and fire & security calls, ensuring patient flow is fluent in ED & Emergency Assessment Unit and managing the iBleep system after 00:30am
