About this placement
What is organised for students on commencement of placement?
Allocation of mentor prior to placement starting
Local induction to the placement area on the first day
Student induction pack on the first day
What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?
Mentors meet with their student through protected time allocated on the planner to complete student documentation
Each student is also allocated an associate mentor which will support the student in their mentor’s absence.
What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?
Shift Notes:
Early: 8am – 4pm
Late: 1pm – 9pm
Night: 7.30pm – 7.45am
Long day: 8am – 9pm
What patient care situations are available in this placement?
Attending visits to clients who are under the HBTT
Assessing risk in the community
Medication management
Attending initial assessments following referrals from A&E, CMHT, Achieve and IAPT
Signposting to alternative and appropriate services
Participate in joint working between inpatient and liaison services and gain exposure into how the teams interface with each other
