MA Dance: Choreography and Professional Practices

Veronica has made a significant impact on the performance culture within the Dance area at Salford, and is an extremely talented and focused student. She is hailed by her lecturers as being considerate and confident with her creative exploration, encouraging others in her Masters group to consider ideas from different lenses, supporting their growth and development.

Veronica is the course’s Student Voice representative and has been influential in the development of a cohesive student community. She has attended every enrichment session and professional masterclass possible, incorporating this industry knowledge into her own practice. Her research embeds collaborative practice and she has regularly sought to make fruitful connections with students from other programmes across the School. Most recently, she worked with Creative Writing and the World Music Ensemble on a performance for International Women’s Day. She is also a skilled photographer and has been working with students to develop images for their portfolios. Veronica is a real ambassador for the University and impressive creative collaborator to her core.

Veronica says “I am incredibly honoured to be shortlisted as a finalist for the Create Student Awards. Studying at the University of Salford has provided various creative and artistic opportunities towards my choreographic practice under the guidance of Debbie Milner. Being an international student so far from home has introduced its challenges, however I have enjoyed every moment studying here, and collaborating with other artists. I look forward to connecting with the other finalists and continuing my creativity in my research and studies.”
