The Environmental Science Class of 1995 reunited this Summer, 30 years after they graduated. After catching up over a coffee, our alumni took a nostalgic campus tour with our student tour guide, before continuing the party off-campus. It was fantastic to see old Salford pals reconnect and reminisce.
Rachel Winfield, an alumna who helped to organise the reunion, said the group’s favourite part of the tour was seeing familiar sites like University House, Peel Park and the Maxwell Building. Rachel said: “We were based in the Telford building, which is no longer there, so it was interesting seeing the changes on campus too. “

Speaking about the impact our campus had on their time at Salford, Rachel said: “We mostly used the library, sports facilities and the bar. We spent a lot of time socialising at The Pav at Castle Irwell, where many of us lived, which is no longer there. It was beneficial having everything we needed so close together on campus.”
When asked about what she would advise the next generation of Salford students, Rachel said: “Knock on the door of the person in the room next-door to you, they could end up being your friend 30 years later like many of us have found. “
It was a joy to host Rachel and the Environmental Science Class of 1995 on campus. If you would like to reunite on campus, please contact alumni@salford.ac.uk and we will work with you to plan your perfect return to campus.
