1.What is your position within the School?

Professor of Digital Society

2.How long have you worked in the School of Health & Society?

Just over a year, but I also worked at Salford from 1999-2014

3.Which building are you based in?

Mary Seacole

4.Why did you choose to work within the School?

I knew some great people worked here, and now I know there are even more!

5.What is your most memorable moment of being in the School?

Thinking that a simulation was reality as I heard a student running down my corridor screaming something about wanting drugs.

6.What is your biggest dream?

To retire early. I love my job, but holidays even more.

7.When you are not at work what do you do to relax?

I am a karaoke Junkie.

8.What was your first job?

I went cleaning with my mum at the local chemical factory.

9. What has been your greatest achievement?

Getting the job I have after being brought up on a council estate. Unfortuantely, the way Uni funding is now, I fear the door is shut to many other people like me.

10.What would make your job easier?

Salford has the fantastic capacity to over engineer processes. I wish we could cut them back so we all (academics and professional staff alike) have more time to do more interesting and valuable things in our jobs.

11.Finally, what one piece of advice would you give to students/colleagues?

Take seriously your mental health and that of others.
