Managing Your Research Data – Thursday 22 May 2014

The Library, working with Research & Innovation, has invited the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) to the University of Salford to present an afternoon workshop about data management planning for your grant applications, and managing your data throughout the project lifecycle. This workshop has been designed around the needs of our academic staff who are actively engaged in research projects, or developing project bids.

Session overview

Research Councils, the EU Commission and many other funding bodies are increasingly requiring evidence of adequate and appropriate provisions for research data management (RDM) & storage in new grant funding applications.

This half-day workshop provides an introduction to research data management and the range of activities and roles that we need to consider when preparing research applications, as well as implementing new projects.

The session will also provide an overview of a range of tools that can assist with your data storage and management activities in order to make your grant applications and subsequent awards a success.

More importantly, the workshop will bring together researchers from different Schools to enable you to share & learn from each other’s experiences and identify key issues or problems regarding Research Data Management that you are facing, and which the University needs to take into account when developing its RDM strategy and implementation plans.
