ESRC-DFID Development Frontiers Research Fund 2016-17

The aim of the funding is to support
innovative, interdisciplinary research that is focused on new ways to tackle the challenges encountered at the intersections between poverty, environmental sustainability and conflict/fragility in specific developing country contexts
The focus countries are:
West Africa
Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Saint Helena, Senegal, Sao Tome and Principe, Togo
Horn of Africa
Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan
South/Southeast Asia
Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Timor Leste.
Proposals involving countries not in the list will not be considered
Proposals to the value of £200,000-£300,000, which last 12-18 months are invited. The deadline is 26th January 2017.
