Horizon 2020: Opportunities for the Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities

UKRO have today released the following notice regarding H2020 and the social sciences and humanities:

Net4Society, the network of National Contact Points for Societal Challenge 6, has published a document entitled “Opportunities for Researchers from the Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities (SSH) in Horizon 2020“. The document lists the current funding opportunities with relevance to socio-economic sciences and humanities in the ‘Societal Challenges’, ‘Industrial Leadership’ and ‘Excellent Science’ parts of Horizon 2020. read more

The UK government has committed to funding all successful applications for EU funding made prior to the UK’s formal exit from the  EU. Moreover, the European Commission has issued assurances that bids led by or involving UK partners will be treated equally. read more

The EPSRC-funded CHERISH-DE (Challenging Human Environments and Research Impact for a Sustainable and Healthy Digital Economy) Centre is inviting applications for its UK Digital Economy Crucible 2017.

The Crucible is an exclusive development opportunity for aspiring young academics working in the field of Digital Economy research to understand the wider context of their work and to develop a broader perspective of how they might progress within their career and, crucially, to build a network for work-related collaboration and peer support. read more

ERC Consolidator Grant and UKRO Information/Writing events

The 2017 call for ERC Consolidator Grants is expected to open on 20 October 20116 and close on 9 February 2017.

The grants are aimed at researchers with 7-12 years post-PhD experience, and are designed to support the development independent research leaders. Grants are worth up to €2m over 5 years. Applicants should have an appropriate track record of research and publishing.

UKRO is hosting two information/grant writing events in the run up to the call.  The first is at the University of Glasgow on 26 October, the second is yet to be announced and will be in London. read more

NIHR School for Social Care Research Funding in Adult Social Care

The NIHR School for Social Care Research (NIHR SSCR) is inviting proposals for research in the field of Adult Social Care in England. Proposals should be from researchers at the beginning of their careers or those seeking to move to a more established status, and are intended to support the development of research capacity in areas of Adult Social Care, as defined by applicants.

Grants of up to £20,000 are available.

The deadline is 4pm on 9th May.

Newton Fund calls for international activities
