EU Creative Europe – First calls published

First ‘Creative Europe’ Calls Published 

The first calls in the new ‘Creative Europe’ programme have been published, with more expected over the coming weeks. There are calls under two ‘sub-programmes’, the Culture Sub-Programme and the MEDIA Sub-Programme.

Nearly EUR 170 million is available through the first calls to be published. Calls already open are as follows:

Culture Sub-Programme

  • European co-operation projects – deadline 5 March 2014
  • European platforms – deadline 19 March 2014
  • European networks – deadline 19 March 2014
  • Literary translation projects – deadline 12 March 2014
MEDIA Sub-Programme

  • Support for the development of single projects and slate funding – first deadline 28 February 2014; 2nd deadline 6 June 2014; Slate funding deadline 28 March 2014; Video Games deadline 28 March 2014.
  • Support for Television Programming of Audiovisual European Works – deadlines 28 February 2014 and 2 July 2014.
  • Support for the transnational distribution of European Films – the ‘Cinema Selective’ Scheme – deadlines 28 February 2014 and 2 July 2014;
  • Support to Film Festivals – deadlines 28 February 2014 (for activities starting between 1 May 2014 and 31 October 2014) and 4 July 2014 (for activities starting between 1 November 2014 and 30 April 2015.)

Forthcoming calls include support for the development of video games, cinema networks and audience development.

Applications should be made through an e-form which is created via the Education, Audiovisual, Culture, Citizenship and Volunteering Participant Portal. The Portal is also how you apply for schemes under ‘Erasmus +’, ‘Europe for Citizens’ and ‘EU Aid Volunteers’.
