By Dec.18, 2013

Dear ELS Colleagues,

Further to last week’s sessions on the EU HORIZON2020 research programme at the School of Environment and Life Sciences, please find attached:

Futhermore, I also wanted to make you aware of an information day organised by Defra, BBSRC, NERC and FSA that is currently open for registration – places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The day is aimed at academic and business organisations interested in exploring funding opportunities in two key areas  –

  • Societal challenge 2 – Food Security, Sustainaible Agriculture, Marine and Maritime Research and the Bioeconomy
  • Societal challenge 5 – Climate Action, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials

The event will feature presentations from the European Commission’s DG Research and Innovation. Furthermore, the UK National Contact Points for the above Societal Challenges will be available on the day to provide advice and support for business and academic organisations on participation in Horizon 2020.  This event is also an excellent opportunity to network with others interested in EU collaborative projects.

The application form is here:Info-Day-registration. The deadline for registration is January 14, but as the places are allocated on a first come first served basis, I would submit asap!
