Santander Travel Funding Scheme: Now Open

The University of Salford has funding to support staff wishing to undertake an international visit or project. The award will support travel to the following countries (other countries could be considered), preferably at a Santander University Partner.

  • In the Americas: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, USA
  • In Europe: Belgium, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Spain, UK
  • In Asia: China, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, UAE
  • In Africa: Ghana

The programme offers awards of £500, £1,000 & £5,000.

Grants are to support members of the Society who are planning a short (1-3 month) research visit to another laboratory worldwide. The scheme supports innovative projects within established collaborations and the development of new collaborative initiatives.


1-3 months


Applicants must be Full, Full Concessionary or Postgraduate Student Members of the Society of at least three calendar months standing before the date of their application for a grant, and who have not received a grant from this scheme in the two previous calendar years.
