Upcoming European Funding Opportunities, 2018

Please see below for a number of European funding opportunities are coming up in the first quarter of 2018. Target areas include:

The UK government has committed to funding all successful applications for EU funding made prior to the UK’s formal exit from the  EU. Moreover, the European Commission has issued assurances that bids led by or involving UK partners will be treated equally.

Marie Sklodowska-Curie innovative training networks.
This aims to raise excellence and structure research and doctoral training, extending the traditional academic research training setting. Grants are worth €39,240 a year for up to 36 months.

H2020-MG-2018 mobility for growth. Horizon 2020: Societal Challenges
This call supports projects that develop new solutions regarding transport challenges, such as addressing transport means, infrastructure and operation models and integrating them into a user friendly European transport system of smart connected mobility with low impact on climate and environment. Grants are worth between €2m and €20m each.
Expected to open on 31 October 2017. Closing date: 30 Jan 18

H2020-LC-SC3-2018 building a low-carbon, climate resilient future. Horizon 2020: Societal Challenges
This call supports projects that focus on research, demonstration, innovation and market-uptake actions across different low-carbon energy sectors such as renewable energy, smart energy systems, energy efficiency and carbon capture utilisation and storage.
The next call is expected to open on 31 October 2017 and have a deadline on 31 January 2018.

Grants are worth between €5m and €10m.

Grants are worth up €5m.

The indicative budget is worth €40.5 million. Grants are worth up to €9m each.
