Jennifer has been described by Niki Woods, Senior Lecturer in Performance, as ‘’one of the most exceptional students I’ve ever had the pleasure to teach. Her work ethic has been extraordinary from the day she started the programme”. Jennifer has not been absent for a single day of her studies and has been a vital member of all her module groups. In her third year, Jennifer’s ambition saw her elected as School Representative, showing ambition and dedication to her discipline – a passion and ambition which has undeniably transferred to her peer group. She has regularly helped others to navigate their way through the course and volunteered at module option fairs, advising new students through the daunting yet exciting list of opportunities available.
Jennifer says: “I am really honoured to be shortlisted for the Performance, English and Creative Writing Award. The University of Salford has offered me many opportunities to work hard on projects that expand and challenge me. Producing my PRP project the ‘Butterfly Murders’ was the ultimate experience and it has taught me so much about myself as a creator. Theatre is a passion of mine and I am grateful to have the space to grow projects that define the path I want to take as a creator. I want to thank Niki Woods l for nominating me. As my tutor through many modules during my time at university, she has taught me so much as a creator of theatre and supported me through some of the toughest times through PRPs. Being shortlisted is an honour but being a part of the University of Salford for the last three years was a privilege and being shortlisted is the cherry on top of an already perfect cake.”
