Maisy Whipp – Winner

BA (Hons) Comedy Writing and Performance

Maisy is known by and adored by all her tutors and has proven herself to be an exceptionally enterprising and collegiate student. During her first year, she performed her stand-up comedy routine at the New Adelphi Comedy Nights which led to her successfully representing the University as part of the very first SalFUNNI group to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017. To her peers, Maisy is a great example of good practice, always on top of all her commitments, and continuously works hard to ensure that her performance practice is the very best it can be. She has shown nothing but passion and commitment for the comedy industry, chairing the University’s Comedy Society for two years, ensuring that everyone has the chance to experience comedy.

Maisy says: “It is an honour to have been nominated for the Performance, English and Creative Writing Award! I’ve loved my time at Salford and the endless opportunities it has given me. This nomination really is the cherry on the cake!”
