Rowan Pritchard

My work incorporates elements of video, photography, performance, and collage, while also exploring the artistic capacity of new technology, particularly artificial intelligence. My work examines queerness not just as an identifier, but as an act of resistance and a way of imagining a future. Influenced by Queer-Marxism, and interested in archives, utopias, and the impact of popular culture, my work considers what it means to be queer and explores the sites where queerness is made and found.

My current practice is focused on the positive potential of queerness. Exploring what it means to take up space, and reflecting on queer sites of intimacy and connection, my work visualizes and makes tangible spaces of queer safety. By centring and celebrating queerness within my work, I make space for queer comfort to be realised.
