As a designer I aspire to create inclusive interiors for everyone to enjoy, with a focus on environmental impact and sustainable design. I will approach projects in a creative way to create unique spaces and exceed the design brief in an exciting and thorough way.
The renovation of Lockside Mill was the focus of my final major project where I designed a gin distillery and bar. This proposal is for the building to accommodate an expansion and rebranding of a local gin distillery, looking to attract younger clientele. The industrial nature of the mill and its rich history inspired the steampunk like interior which pays homage to the evolution of technology. The main features in the space include a void, cutting through the length of the building, allowing a shower of illuminated bottles to cascade down, immersing visitors as they ascend a sweeping staircase. Viewing platforms, balconies and bespoke lighting all create opportunities for visitors to capture the perfect photograph, whilst learning and interacting with the distilling process.
