Matthew Needham

I am a writer/director and have just completed my final year at the University of Salford. As a creative the current themes I’m exploring in my work are: identity formation, LGBT representation, the antihero and telling untold stories through a fresh and exciting lens. Currently I’m developing a short-film called  ‘DISCERNMENT’.

My greatest achievement at Salford would be my development from performer to writer/director, and the ability to have industry professionals help shape me as an artist; I now feel I have a strong artistic voice to show in my work.

This scene is an extract from the short film WATCH / LEARN. In the film Aaron, a teenager on the verge of adulthood, finds himself in difficulty with the police after two parts of his life he had been keeping separate, crash together.

In this specific scene Aaron is made aware of the direct consequences of his actions as he is forced to watch them unfurl before him.

This clip contains the threat of violence and may not be suitable for those under 12.
