What is organised for students on commencement of placement?
Shifts, allocated assessors and supervisors and a student welcome pack is provided.
Student will be expected to read and print out (or have ready available copy) a copy of the student welcome pack before attending the placement.

08:00 – 14:30

What patient care situations are available in this placement?
Level 2 and 3 patients requiring more 1:1 or 1:2 care. These patients include patients requiring intubation and ventilation, hemofiltration, high flow oxygen therapy, inotropic support and a variety of other organ support requirements

Spoke Placements
A lot of spoke opportunities are available on the unit as we have MDT’s attending the unit daily who students can shadow, this includes, physiotherapy, dietician, Speech and Language therapy.
Other opportunities include Critical Care Outreach, Theatres
