What are the arrangements for mentors/assessors?

Placement Education Lead for the department is Erica Wilson. Students will be allocated a mentor prior tocommencing placement.

There are currently 5 mentors.

What shift patterns are students allocated for learning?

Shift Notes:

08.00 – 15.00

08.00 – 14.00

09.00 – 17.00

10.00 – 18.00

12.30 – 17.30

You will be working predominantly day shifts

What patient care situations are available in this placement?

You will be caring for a variety of patients with a range ofGynaecology conditions, for example post menopausal bleeding, Oncology,Fertility, Unplanned pregnancy etc….Youwill also be involved with the care of early pregnancy patients where you willbe involved with the care of women who have concerns regarding their pregnancyie miscarriage/ectopic pregnancies

Additional Information

We see patients experiencing a variety of gynaecological and early pregnancy issues, including miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy.

If you have been affected by any of these issues and are concerned about how you may feel during your placement please discuss with your mentor.
