Louise Hardman

BA (Hons) Graphic Design

Since her first year, Louise has exceeded expectations with her approach to graphic design. She has been credited by her tutors as “without a doubt the hardest working designer in Manchester”, constantly striving to learn more, with an exceptional excitement to adapt her skillset to a variety of complex briefs. Louise is confident in her ability and regularly breaks the boundaries of contemporary graphic design and illustration to produce beautifully designed creative outcomes. Her work is genuinely outstanding, and a testament to her hard work, which was never deterred throughout the duration of the pandemic.

Louise’s self-awareness of the industry, and her position within it, has been the subject of much of her undergraduate work. She has grown a large professional network outside of the University working with recent graduates also, including a branding project for Salford alumni ‘Short Supply’, which has been a huge success. In an uncertain industry which has become oversaturated with designers in competition, one certainty is that Louise Hardman will be a name heard for years to come in design circles internationally.

Louise says “I am overwhelmed with gratitude to have been shortlisted as a finalist for a Create Student Award. It’s an amazing feeling to be recognised for my work, and I am especially honoured to have been nominated by my tutors, who have continuously inspired me during my time at Salford. Being nominated has given me an opportunity to take a step back and reflect on my progress as a graphic designer and individual, in addition to the strength and confidence I have gained during my time at university. Having been a very shy first year, to now being a more independent and confident person, this nomination means so much to me as it shows my efforts haven’t gone unnoticed by the University, and my confidence continues to grow thanks to this continued support. This really is an amazing end to my experience at Salford, and I feel immensely proud of what I have accomplished and the person I have become.”
