Emily Cramby

BA (Hons) Dance

Emily has been a diligent and committed student, always going over and above to participate in opportunities, both on and off campus. At the beginning of her second year, Emily suffered a chronic injury which significantly changed the trajectory of her career yet has become testament to her resilience to bounce forward undeterred. During this time, Emily was on a work placement with Hawk Dance Theatre. She impressed the company director so much with her work ethic, eagerness to learn and talent for digital dance and marketing, that she was asked to continue working with the company on a new collaboration between Hawk Dance Theatre and Wiggle Dance CIC. Emily worked with directors Amy Burden and Josh Hawkins to document the event, shooting interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and social media marketing content.

Emily’s talents for film and photography saw her being appointed as Digital Marketing Officer at Company Chameleon, furthering her engagement in the local dance community. Emily’s creativity, commitment and motivation has already impressed many industry colleagues across the North West, and she has carved out a strong reputation which will support her transition into the professional dance sphere.

Emily says “I’m so grateful to be shortlisted for this award, being nominated is an amazing way to end my Salford experience and celebrate the journey it has taken me on.”
