Tobias has been a powerhouse of creative energy since joining Salford in 2019. His commitment to his studies and willingness to embrace new experiences and extra-curricular activities have been unparalleled. As a successful Tik Tok and Instagram star, Tobias has a natural flair for presenting television and radio, and was the host of the innovative, interactive TV show ‘Final Rounds’ – livestreamed from our MediaCity campus weekly, to bring the large student cohort together during the isolation of the pandemic. The programme was a huge success and saw Tobias performing pre-recorded sketches as well as hosting a popular interactive quiz, demonstrating his speed of thought and ready wit. He also possesses a keen comic ear, and this was explicit in a comic radio magazine programme where he played a variety of characters, adopting a range of accents with impressive accuracy. Tobias went on to co-present the course’s annual awards ceremony, The BAFTARS, in 2021. This was also livestreamed from MediaCity and included pre-recorded skits and a complex live presentation.
His dedication to his degree and the School has been inspiring, always giving 100% to his studies whilst remaining committed to his demanding side projects.
Tobias says “I’m so thrilled to be shortlisted as a finalist for The Dean’s Award. Studying, working and growing as just a small part of the huge creative community here at Salford has been a fantastic, life changing experience and I’m ever so grateful for all the brilliant people who have helped me along the way. Since joining the course three years ago, I’ve always strived to be positive and to lift spirits through the tough times we’ve all experienced and it’s wonderful to be recognised for this. So, it’s an honour to be nominated for an award; and what a fabulous way to celebrate the end of my degree at Salford, at the very start of my career!”
