Qaisra Shahraz

The Founder, Curator and Executive Director of MACFEST (Muslim Arts and Culture Festival) and Muslim Women’s Arts Foundation. She is a critically-acclaimed novelist, scriptwriter, and a prize winning gender,  peace and interfaith activist. She is a former alumni of University of Salford gaining two Masters degrees in English Literature and in Scriptwriting for TV and Radio in 2002. In 2018, she received the university’s ‘Alumni Achievement Award’ for Contribution to Society, arts and cohesion. 

As an educationist, she is a former Ofsted inspector, quality manager, teacher trainer and has worked in schools, and Manchester Adult Education.
