Celebrate National Tree Week with a guided Tree Walk on campus

National Tree Week (22 – 30 November) is the UK’s biggest celebration of trees. It’s a chance to reflect on how trees support people, wildlife, and the planet.

This year, the University of Salford is marking the occasion with a Tree Walk through Peel Park and our campus green spaces.

Join us on Monday 24 November, 13:00 – 14:30, for a guided walk led by PLANT MCR, Planit, the urban design practice leading on our new Public Realm Strategy, Salford SU, and the Sustainability Team.

During the walk, we will share stories about the diverse trees found across our grounds. You’ll discover historic oaks, young saplings, and new plantings that help connect people, biodiversity, and wellbeing. We’ll also explain how Planit’s regenerative design approach will make our spaces greener, healthier, and more welcoming.

This event supports our goal to build a sustainable, accessible, and nature-rich campus. Trees clean the air, cool our city, provide homes for wildlife, and store carbon. They are essential to our vision for a thriving environment at Salford.

Whether you’re a student, colleague, or local resident, we invite you to take a break, get outside, and see the campus through fresh eyes this National Tree Week.
