Join the SDG Teach In 2026!

The 9th annual SDG Teach In will take place throughout March 2026. Get involved by pledging to incorporate the SDGs into your teaching, or encourage your educators to take part.

TheSDG Teach In is a campaign delivered by Students Organising for Sustainability UK (SOS UK) which calls upon all types of educators worldwide to embed the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their teaching, training, learning or assessment throughout March.

We know from a decade of research that the majority of students would like to see sustainable development actively incorporated throughout their education. The Teach In is therefore an ideal springboard for those getting started with or to go further with embedding sustainability into education.

Leaderboards will be published throughout March with institutions with the most pledges and learners reached (in proportion to the size of the institution); help us get The University of Salford on there!

If we make it onto the final leaderboards, there’s an opportunity for the University to win discounted support for student-led curriculum mapping, a key recommendation from our recent Responsible Futures audit.

People sat around tables of 4 people, working together with cut-out icons of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

What are the aims of the SDG Teach In?

  • Empower: Ensure students and staff are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and attributes to be the change they want to see in the world.
  • Critically engage: While the SGDs are a great way to explore sustainability, we also encourage critical engagement with them, and supplementing them with other topics or approaches such as decolonising the curriculum, environmental justice and other frameworks related to sustainability.
  • Catalyse curriculum transformation: by encouraging and supporting educators to innovate methods in Education for Sustainable Development.

How can you help make a positive difference?

Already embedded the SDGs into your practice? Great! Pledge to let us know and see how you can go further – sustainability is a lifelong journey and a continuously changing field.
