Go Green Salford 2020

Monday 10th Feb – Friday 6th March

Go Green Salford is back for another year with a busy four weeks of activities taking place on campus to raise awareness of the importance of sustainability and encourage positive change amongst our students and staff.

Working in collaboration with the Students’ Union, Peel Park, Salfood, DSAS and others, we will be providing students, staff and the local community with various activities, opportunities and information on how to go green. We will also promote events happening across Salford and Manchester that may be of interest.

Find out more about sustainability issues, get involved and take action – you can find all the details below. Come along to as many as you can and Go Green in 2020!

Week One – Think Green

Monday 10th February

Arts & Media Green exhibition (running all week)

As part of their ‘Collaboration: Learning and Sharing Together’ module, Fashion Image Making Styling students have been working on a ‘Caring Sharing’ assessment, focusing on the environmental impact of the fashion industry.

They have been exploring how consciousness is at the core of progressing sustainable solutions to industry waste and creating a collaborative creative full look with a zero waste anchor.

A key part of the project is that they have no financial resources and have no impact on the environment and instead ‘repurpose, resource, rethink’.

The student’s work will be exhibited in New Adelphi throughout the first week of Go Green Salford, along with work from other students as part of a competition.
