Library Champions have money for you to spend

Whatever subject you’re studying, whatever year you’re in, your Library Champions have money for you to spend on library resources.

If there’s a book, ebook or some other learning resource that you need that’s not currently available from the library, your Library Champion can buy it for the Library. They have money for you to spend. Money. For you to spend. It’s as simple as that. There’s no catch. You simply need to let your Library Champion know about the resource you want and they will do the rest. It couldn’t be easier. Don’t spend your own money on the resources you need for your studies. LIBRARY CHAMPIONS HAVE MONEY FOR YOU TO SPEND.

Who are the Library Champions?

Library Champions are students who have volunteered to act as links between the Library and students at the University. You can find out who your Library Champion is on the Library Champion Scheme page on the Library website. Simply drop them a line and tell them about the resource you need and they’ll take things from there.

Still not convinced? Read this student’s account of how easy it all was:

“I’d heard about the funds the Library Champions had. I decided to give it a try when an e-resource I wanted wasn’t available in the Library. I found my Library Champion on the Library website and sent them the details of the ebook I wanted. They got back in touch to confirm everything and the next I heard was an email telling me my resource was ready and waiting in Library Search! I was really happy with the service. I’ve let all my friends know about this clever way to save money and study better.”

Library Champions can help you

You should get to know your Library Champion, whether or not you need them to buy a library resource for you. That’s because they can help you with all sorts of things. They can offer advice about how you can use the Library to make the most of your studies. They have a voice on library action groups and can pass on your feedback about library services, escalating any issues you have. Student feedback to Library Champions has driven several recent Library initiatives. These include development of the collections, improvements to the study environment and additional equipment, such as drawing boards, being made available for loan.

So, don’t delay! Find out who your Library Champion is and the next time you need a resource that’s not in the Library, spend the Library Champion’s money, not your own!
