Applying to schools in the UK, especially as an international student, can be pretty overwhelming, but fear not! We are here to simplify the process and guide you seamlessly towards your dream course at the University of Salford.
Before we get started, note that there are three ways to apply: UCAS, direct application and application through an agent. In this guide, we will specifically touch on how you can apply for postgraduate study via direct application.
If you are coming in for an undergraduate course, you must apply through UCAS.
Step 1: Choose a course
Selecting the right course sets the foundation for your academic journey. It’s important to choose a course that aligns with your goals and desired career. The best way to do this is to use the courses page to check out the range of courses available.
You can use the search bar to search for a particular course that you’re interested in, and you can also use the filter tool on the right-hand side to narrow down your search by the level of study.
Once you’ve identified your ideal course, the next thing to do is to click on the course to find more about:
- The modules
- Career path
- Fees
- Admission criteria and deadline.
Step 2: Check your eligibility
This differs for the different countries, so it’s important to choose your country, then check out the entry requirements needed for the level of study you are coming in over for.
Some courses may have additional entry requirements, so be sure to go through the course page for more information.
Step 3: Get all your documents ready
To support your application, the University will require a few official documents. These will include:
- Passport identification page
- English language results
- Degree certificates
- Academic transcripts
- Your personal statement
- Academic references
STEP 4: Submit your application
You will need to complete an online application form to apply to the University of Salford. Now that you have all the documents needed, the form would take about 20 minutes to complete. If you don’t have all the documents available, you can always save your application and come back later to finish it.
What you should expect after submitting your application
After applying to the University of Salford, you’ll receive an email of confirmation and in the next few weeks you’ll receive another email from the University of Salford with the outcome.
If you get a conditional offer…
A conditional offer signifies acceptance into your desired course, but you’ll need to satisfy a few certain requirements to be given an unconditional offer from the University. These requirements might include uploading of some supporting documents, references and a deposit of £5,500.
Upon fulfilling these conditions, you’ll get an unconditional offer from the University and then you will need to apply for your Certificate of Acceptance of Studies (CAS). This will help you in your visa application process.
