In the spotlight: Criminology Clearing courses

We’re excited to feature one of our popular subject areas: Criminology. Currently, there are places available through Clearing, but please visit the Criminology Clearing page on our website for the latest course availability.

If you’re keen on addressing the societal causes of crime and delving into justice, our Criminology courses are perfect for you. Criminology explores themes such as crime, deviance, justice, law, regulation, and punishment, and examines their roles in shaping, maintaining, and disrupting social norms.

Lisa, a Criminology student at Salford, says:

“When you mention that you’re studying Criminology, people often assume you’re investigating crimes and murders, but it’s much more than that. Criminology examines the foundations of society. It explores the societal causes of crime and a broad range of issues, such as how poverty and lack of opportunity can be linked to criminal behavior, or why men are more often victims of violent crimes, while women are more likely to suffer domestic violence. I aspire to join the police, but Criminology opens the door to numerous career paths.”

At Salford, we offer several Criminology degrees through Clearing, including:

These courses are also available with foundation years. For more details and the latest availability, please check our Clearing Criminology page.
