Pien couldn’t make it to freshers week when she started at Salford, but Grace O and Grace M took her under their wing on her first day, and they have been best friends ever since. Working together at the BBC and in Radio, even their careers have aligned, Pien shared the story of their friendship.
How did you meet?
I met both girls on my first day of university. I was super nervous because I wasn’t living on campus, so I hadn’t made any friends during freshers but both Grace and Grace M were very friendly and took me under their wing. The rest is history!
How have you stayed in touch after Uni?
They have been my best friends ever since we left university. I worked with Grace M at the BBC for a few years after we graduated, and Grace O is also working as a radio presenter, so our career paths have aligned. They have been an amazing support in my career and in my personal life.
What’s your advice to students wanting to make friends on campus?
Cherish the people that support you the most and enjoy the experience together!
