When Daniel first visited Harry while he was studying at Salford, he remembers a romantic reunion at the barriers at Salford Crescent. But Harry wasn’t the only thing he fell for that weekend. Before long, Daniel was falling for Salford too.
After Harry graduated in 2019, Daniel followed in his footsteps and began his studies the following year.
Tell us about how you met.
When I first came to see Harry at Salford, I was living in Suffolk, so I came up on the train. I remember first seeing him through the gate just before you go through the barriers at Salford Crescent station. I would always visit on weekends while he was studying his final year of musical arts.
We used to spend time in Peel Park, and I attended his concerts in the Peel Building. Harry graduated in 2019, and in 2020, I started studying Fine Art at Salford, so it was his turn to attend my degree show and graduation.
Tell us about your life together after university.
We moved elsewhere in Manchester when I studied at Salford. I would get the train in the mornings, and when I walked past that bit of the station it always brought back fond memories of our early relationship.
In 2023, after my graduation, we both moved across the Pennines to Halifax. On 22 August 2025, we got married!
What is your advice for those looking for romance on campus?
Never be scared to take the leap of faith!
