I moved to Salford from a small town hours away from campus, so it wasn’t the easiest for me to come to one of the Open Days that the University of Salford hosts. That being said, I really enjoyed coming to an Offer Holder Day as it was my first chance to get a feel for what life at Salford would be like for me.

Firstly, the University offers a travel bursary for those that attend an Offer Holder Day, which means you could be reimbursed up to £120. There’s more details about this on our website, but this was really helpful for me as it meant I didn’t have to worry too much about finances.

Secondly, it gave me an opportunity to see what the course is like and use the facilities on offer at the University. I study the TV & Radio Production course and the facilities were one of the main deciding factors in choosing where I wanted to study. I vividly remember getting to go into the TV studios on our MediaCity campus and getting to do a pretend weather report on the green screen!

For life outside of the classroom, you get the chance to speak to our support staff who will answer your questions about student finance and the services we offer. You also get a chance to find out about the sports clubs and societies we have at the University!

Coming to an Offer Holder Day gave me a massive insight into what it would be like studying at university and I couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone that’s thinking of attending one.
